Athletic Directors Welcome

On behalf of the administration, faculty, staff and amazing coaches and advisers of Desert Hills High School, I’d like to welcome you to our THUNDER family. Desert Hill’s tradition of excellence athletically as well as academically is unprecedented. Since opening its doors in 2008, we have had success rarely seen in the state of Utah in such a short period of time. This was evident this past year when we won our fourth-straight Deseret News 3A All Sports Award with “…the most dominant performance in state history. The Thunder won five state championships (football, boys cross-country and track, girls basketball and [girls] golf), had five runner-up finishes, and finished third twice to rack up a new Deseret News All-Sports record with 116 points” (Deseret News – May 26, 2014).

Desert Hills is currently a member of Region 9 in the 3A classification along with Dixie, Snow Canyon, Pineview, Hurricane, Cedar and Canyon View high schools. It is one of the most competitive regions in Utah. We compete in 3AA football. As a member of the Utah High School Activities Association, the Thunder participates in the following sports: Volleyball, Girls and Boys Cross Country, Girls and Boys Golf, Girls and Boys Soccer, Football, Girls and Boys Tennis, Wrestling, Girls and Boys Swim, Girls and Boys Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Drill, and Girls and Boys Track and Field. We also participate in Speech and Debate, Music and our Theatre programs. We provide a competitive Cheer squad, dance company and many other clubs and activities.

We are excited for your interest in our school. Come out and support our teams and our programs and cheer loud (unless its golf).

Good luck to our programs and ROLL THUNDER!!
